Irvinestown Lawn Tennis Club - Rules
- Each player is to pay £5 to participate in the league to be collected by their team captain at the first match. (Committee decision).
- Please assemble at 7.45pm so that play can begin at 8.00 sharp.
- Players should show respect for other team members. Any player turning up to play after 8.10 (except by arrangement with the other team), will forfeit one game to the opposing team, ie, play will start at 1-0.
- The makeup of the teams is final. Players should not change/swap to another team.
- Each match shall be 13 games, the last one a tiebreak.
- 1st Round 1 & 2 - 3 & 4 - 5 & 6 - 7 & 8
- 2nd Round 1 & 3 - 2 & 4 - 5 & 7 – 6 & 8
- The team Captain’s role is to make initial contact with their team before the first match, as soon as possible after receiving this schedule.
- Fill in the score sheet at the match and agree to forward the result sheet to Bawnacre each night.
- If you cannot play a match it is YOUR RESPONSIBILTY to arrange a sub at the same level or below. This should be agreed well in advance, please do not leave it to the last minute. Also let your team captain know.
- Matches which may be cancelled due to bad weather need to be arranged by the Captains at the next available date. This can be any week night, not necessarily a Monday or Tuesday. Availability of the courts will need to be confirmed with the Bawnacre.
- We will be having a presentation evening in Molly’s Bar on Fri 4th May Please keep this date free to have a great social evening out and to support our sponsors.
Please note that some decisions on player positions in teams have been made not on a grading basis but to make teams as even as possible.
