ELITE WINDOWS
Club Championships
Irvinestown Tennis Club held its annual Club Championships commencing the week of 28th April, this year generously sponsored by John Maguire of Elite Windows. Singles , doubles and mixed events were held for all levels of players, mostly held in a round robin format. Although all matches were played competitively, there was a great "club" atmosphere and all matches were watched with interest despite the bitterly cold April conditions.
At the presentation of prizes, David McDowell (Club Captain) thanked the sponsors Elite Windows, all his helpers for their assistance and the Bawnacre staff for the supper and the use and preparation of the courts. As this was the first event run using computer software, everyone was very patient, aware that it was a learning process but all were also keen to get hands on experience in preparation for the larger open events which will have to be computerized in line with Tennis Ireland regulations.
