The Molly's Bar & Restaurant Spring League drew to a close at Irvinestown Lawn Tennis Club this week with an exciting Final between the Salad Squad and the Brunch Bunch.
The competition between the two front runner teams has lasted all the way through this league with both well clear of the other teams. The Squad opened the score with a great win (11-2 ) from Joanne Daly and Kathleen Maguire but the Brunch took all the matches on the other three courts with a matching 11-2 from Jill Parkinson/Chloe Cathcart and 7-6 wins from Paul Cassidy/David McDowell and Steve Beaumont/Jarlath Maguire.
In the second leg the Bunch forged ahead with a tremendous 11-2 win from Maggie Britton/Paul Cassidy while Jill Parkinson/Steve Beaumont also finished with a score of 11-2 when their match was conceded when they were leading 5 -2.
The other two games went to the Bunch with 7-6 wins for Sandra McElroy/David McDowell and Chloe Cathcart/Jarlath Maguire. The evening finished with a well -deserved win of 63 -41 for the Bunch who have not lost a match throughout this League.

The Internal Club Championship, sponsored by Ted Maguire Meats take place at Irvinestown Lawn tennis Club on Tues 7th, Wed 8th & Thurs 9th May and the Presentation night for both the League & the Club Championships will be held at Molly's Bar & Restaurant on Sat. 11th May.

The Annual Fermanagh Open Veterans Tournament sponsored by Mahon’s Hotel took place last week. Irvinestown members enjoyed great success winning ten out of the fifteen events. Over 60 players from as far afield as Limavady and Cavan enjoyed some great play in both the Open and C standard events for Over 35’s and Over 45’s. Irish Nationals U-12
Congratulations to both Kyran and Conan who qualified to play at the Irish Nationals U 12 event at Fitzwilliam Tennis Club Dublin, our first Junior club members to gain automatic entry into the event in 15 yrs. Both boys enjoyed the experience but where unfortunate to draw the No 3 & 6 seeds and lost in their first rounds. ...
