Irvinestown Lawn Tennis Club Spring League sponsored by Molly's Bar & Restaurant
It was highly competitive play this week at Irvinestown Lawn Tennis Club as teams fought it out for a place in the Final of the Molly's Bar & Restaurant sponsored Spring League.
First up on Monday night was the match between Cocktail Crew and Gourmet Gang which produced some big wins and losses for both teams. Pete Keogh/Alby Grey got the Gang of to a great start with 10-3 win but this was quickly offset with 9-4 wins for the Crew from Frances/Catherine Taggart and Wendy Eaton/Kevin McGuinness. Chrissy Pendry/Sandra Beatty held on for a 7-6 win for the Gang but at the halfway mark, the Crew had a two point lead. In round two, the Gang pulled ahead with big wins on court 1 from Pete Keogh/Sandra Mc Elroy (9-4) and on court 2 from Alby Grey/Kate Heaver (11-2).
